Angelique O'Garo
Head of Primary
Angelique grew up in a Forces Family and has spent a large part of her life in Leeds, as it is the city her parents originally migrated to from Jamaica and St Kitts.
She began her teaching career in 2003 and has worked at several successful primary schools in Leeds. Her most recent role was in a school with a high percentage of students from diverse backgrounds, over forty different languages spoken and a higher-than-average proportion of EAL and SEN students. In addition to her Senior Leadership roles, Angelique has been an English Lead for ten years, Phase leader for KS1 and KS2, and a Specialist Leader of Education for Noctua Teaching Alliance.
She has also been seconded to support other schools to develop their curriculum and pedagogy and has been involved in a DFE Strategic School Improvement project to investigate evidence-based research and intervention strategies to improve speech, language, and communication outcomes in the Early Years.
Working for Dixons Trinity Chapeltown to achieve highly successful educational outcomes for the students of Chapeltown and Harehills is an incredible opportunity and a very exciting challenge for Angelique. Dixons’ aspirational mission mirrors her own beliefs that children have a right to first class educational experiences which sets them on the right path for future success.
