Dixons Trinity Chapeltown

Sophie Moore

Assistant Vice Principal

Sophie is honoured to be part of the fantastic team of passionate and skilled professionals here at Dixons Trinity Chapeltown. She joined the academy in July 2022, returning to Leeds after spending 3 years teaching and living in the UAE in the Middle East.

After a successful career in television documentary production, Sophie retrained to become a teacher over 13 years ago and has never looked back! She has spent the majority of her teaching career to date at an outstanding school in Leeds. During this time, she was fortunate enough to have a class in every year group within the primary phase, as well as to successfully lead teams in KS1 and KS2. Through her work as Computing Leader, Sophie led her school to be one of the first 100 in the UK to receive the 3rd Millennium Learning Award: an accreditation given to schools which show a commitment to designing an innovative and engaging curriculum, embedding technology to support this across all subjects.

While teaching in Dubai, Sophie was Head of Primary Science at an Outstanding British Curriculum School with students from over 92 nationalities. During this time, she also gained her National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership.

With her family roots stemming from Jamaica, Sophie is thrilled to join the diverse community at Dixons and is passionate about supporting children and their families to ensure they have the best possible opportunities in the future.

Sophie lives in North Leeds with her husband, 8-year-old son and adorable new puppy, aptly named Sunny.
